Note From a Supporter

We are so grateful when supporters send notes to the campaign! Not only do they encourage the candidate, but they energize everyone at headquarters. Here is one such message:

Bonnie, you're an inspiration to us all! You embody all the qualities of a true American leader: you're gracious, encouraging, not afraid to speak the truth and know just the right hairstyles to suit every occasion. Bonnie, you've got my support!

A special thank you to this supporter for voicing her thoughts!

A Kinder Approach Focused on the Pretty Pictures

You know, some people approach climate change with a focus on doom-and-gloom instead of seeing the upside. When our researchers put so much energy in collecting truly awe-inspiring images from the Artic to the Equator, we like to show the world how amazing this world really is. You can see for yourself how our approaches differ. Mr. Gore made a movie with some outstanding photography in it and even won some awards. Check out his photography and ours and you'll see that we both captured something unique. Our campaign is not stepping out on a limb and criticizing Mr. Gore, just taking the opportunity to note some interesting comparisons that were recently made known to us. Hmmm. You can see an excerpt of his movie and then see and excerpt from ours. You be can be the judge for yourself.

If Hillary Can Do It, So Can We!

People are constantly making comparisons between my campaign and the campaign of the Senator, Hillary Clinton. Even though Hillary is a woman, the United States is looking at a slate of establishment candidates on both sides of the aisle. So, like her husband did back in '92, we're planning on running a "fresh faced" campaign to bring something new and energetic to Washington.

You can see Hillary's "I'm In" video below and then see why Bonnie's campaign is so fresh by watching her "I'm So In!" video. Here are both of them:

Thoughts and Prayers for the Edwardses

Like the rest of America, we were disheartened to learn of the recurrence of cancer for Elizabeth Edwards. This awful disease has attacked so many Americans, indiscriminately, that all Americans can feel unified in their fight against it. Our thoughts and prayers are with Elizabeth and her family has she battles the disease. John, and his battle for the White House, is another story. We look forward to spanking him throughout the campaign (not literally) on other issues that matter. We especially look forward to doing battle with him in that Southern style he so easily delivers, as does the Bonnie for President Campaign. God be with you.

Saying Thank You!

It has come to our attention that not all candidates know how to say thank you. Sure, you can get a thank you for a donation... If you're lucky, you might even receive a signed photograph of your favorite candidate. But, what about the people who just like the candidate, promise to vote for the candidate, OR EVEN SIGN UP TO JOIN THE TEAM by email! Well, to those people we say thank you. Your "team participation" means so much to the campaign, especially if you forward the messages to friends and relatives; even moreso, if you harrass them until they sign up to "join team Bonnie" themselves. For all those little people who make such a difference, the campaign says thank you. And though you might have to pay to buy one of our mugs or great golf shirts (at the online campaign store), we are so incredibly grateful to have you on the team. Thank you for spamming all your friend, family, and even enemies!

Patience in Iraq

Today, our current President came before the American people asking them for more patience as the war in Iraq continues. We checked in with Bonnie on this issue and her immediate comment was, "I have nothing but patience." We pressed a little further to see what she was driving toward and we came to a clear understanding: "Look, we've got 18 long months until the election. We'll have plenty of time for platitudes and I'm sure every candidate is going to try to make all the other ones look bad. If you want to talk about Iraq, there is more than one issue. If you want to talk patience, I've got loads of it!"

We found out that Bonnie, in her role as Presidential contender, clearly doesn't mince words.

The Lawyer Firings

Omigoodness! We hear all these things about politics getting involved in the Justice Department and people getting fired. All we know is firing people is kind of mean, don'tcha think?! The nice thing is that when you're President, you get to do a lot of hiring (hooray!). So, as President, we feel pretty confident that the general disposition of Bonnie's administration will be one of hiring.

Eleven Months and Counting

It seems hard to believe that we're still eleven months from what looks like will become a National "Super-Tuesday" Primary Election day. Friends and colleagues, like us, are trying to figure out just how the heck we can have the most impact with our limited budgets. A few candidates out there, ahem, have super-size-me budgets so we'll probably see lots of them flying around the country making appearances and speeches and things. But, what about campaigns like ours that are just full of heart! Are connections and money everything? Should it be that only those with influence now will govern later?

Oh, and just by way of fact: half of we American citizens will be voting on February 5, 2008 (or before). No one knows if the rest of us will have loads or no influence in our primary elections. So, here's to eleven months of fun!

First Post

Ahem. Test, one-two; test, one-two. So, here we are on the World Wide Web. Over time we'll develop a feel for how the campaign can interact with the people. Thanks for your patience.

Hopefully this will be a fun way for us to share information, hear your thoughts, and generally keep up with everyone.

And, on behalf of the candidate: thanks for your support.
